Happy reading!

Brace yourselves, Moortown! ☀️ Wednesday's weather is strutting its sunny side, but don't let those bright rays fool you; it's still a scarf and gloves day with highs just nudging at 1°C and lows dipping to a frosty -5°C.

As the sun goes down, the temperatures follow suit, reminding us all to maybe enjoy that evening cuppa by the fire. Stay warm, stay cheerful, and remember - spring is just a few chilly months away! 🧣🍵🌞

A Harrowing Ordeal Leads to Justice

In a recent and unsettling event, a man from Moortown has been sentenced to seven years in prison. This conclusion follows a spree of violence that included stabbing a taxi driver, a series of carjackings, and assaults on pedestrians in Leeds city centre.

The local community has been deeply affected by the actions of the individual, who embarked on what was described as a GTA-style rampage. The swift response of police ensured public safety and brought the incident to an end. The severity of the sentence reflects the gravity of the crimes committed.

Roundhay made the “Best things to do in Leeds” list… TWICE!

Two of Roundhay's treasures have made it onto The "Best things to do in Leeds" bucket list for 2024!

First up is the magnificent Roundhay Park, a green haven and one of Europe's largest city parks, boasting over 700 acres of diverse landscapes. With its rich history dating back to the 11th century, the park draws nearly a million visitors each year.

Not to be outdone, Tropical World offers an exotic escape, housing the largest collection of tropical plants outside Kew Gardens. This beloved attraction, which started its journey as a conservatory in 1911, is now a thriving licensed zoo and a butterfly paradise.

Both attractions are stars in their own right, with Roundhay Park scoring 4.7 on Google and Tropical World a solid 4.3.
