Thousands Mourn Rugby Legend Rob Burrow in Final Farewell

Thousands of mourners lined the streets of Pontefract to bid farewell to rugby league legend and MND campaigner Rob Burrow, who passed away on 2 June at the age of 41.

The former Leeds Rhinos star's funeral was a private service attended by 161 guests, including close friend and fundraiser Kevin Sinfield.

Despite the private service, the public was invited to line the cortege route, with many wearing rugby shirts bearing Burrow's name.

Burrow, who had a 17-year illustrious career, raised over £15m for MND research and was honoured with an MBE and CBE for his contributions.

A civic reception will be hosted by Leeds City Council on 12 July.
