Acting Owt!:

A 1 hour and 30-minute session that is hosted at the Moortown Methodist Church from 7pm - 8:30pm. The session is used to learn acting skills, practise impov, build confidence, make new friends, and most importantly, have fun.

The session welcomes all ages but anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact [email protected].

Environmental Action and Sustainability with Alexis Percival

Café Economique hosts a talk on March 5, 2024, featuring Alexis Percival, discussing the Roundhay Environmental Action Project (REAP). This event delves into the initiatives taken by REAP over 17 years to combat climate change locally, including green tech transport, community gardens, and energy education.

Percival, with extensive experience in environmental consultancy and her role at the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, will share insights on sustainability in healthcare and beyond. Held at Chapel Allerton Methodist Church, tickets are £5, with wheelchair access available.

Rock and Roll:

At Moortown Social Club, every Wednesday the Rock and Roll event will be held from 8pm - 11pm. It is £4 on the door, so go on down and have a dance to some classics. For more information contact the social club on 0113 268 5039.

Thursday, 7th March

Story & Rhyme at Chapel Allerton Library

Join the Story & Rhyme sessions at Chapel Allerton Library every Thursday from 10:30-11:30 AM. These sessions, part of the Leeds Libraries initiative, offer a fun environment for under 5s and their guardians to enjoy stories and rhymes together.

It's a free, drop-in event that also encourages participation in the 'Ready, Steady, Readers' challenge, enhancing early reading skills in a relaxed and friendly setting. The event is wheelchair accessible and baby-changing facilities are available.

Friday, 8th March

Pizza & Quiz Night at Maggie's Yorkshire:

Summary: Join a fun-filled evening with pizza and trivia at Maggie's Yorkshire on Friday, March 8th, from 6 to 9 PM. Test your knowledge across five rounds of questions and enjoy delicious pizza from Rudy’s Chapel Allerton. Tickets are £15 per person, including food, with drinks available for purchase.

Sunday Night Entertainment:

Yesterday Moortown Social Club hosted an entertaining event with Female Vocalist Katie Hudson. Entertainment is held every Sunday so although information is not released until the day of you can ensure that there will be a good time to be had. Mother's Day Afternoon Tea at The Mansion

Celebrate Mother's Day with an elegant afternoon tea at The Mansion, set against the picturesque backdrop of Roundhay Park in Leeds. On March 10th, 2024, indulge in a selection of sandwiches and sweet treats, with options available for children.

Bus Route Changes in Moortown Amid Road Closures

Moortown Rugby Club had a weekend to remember with the First XV showcasing a stellar performance against Old Brodleians RUFC, securing a bonus point victory of 43-19 despite challenging weather.

Meanwhile, the Super 2s put forth a valiant effort in even harsher conditions, narrowly missing out with a close 14-20.

Both teams displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship.
