Moortown Pancakes, Local Criminals and FC Fixtures!
Tuesday 13th February 2024
Happy Pancake Day, Moortown readers!
Here's a roundup of the top pancake places in North Leeds that are sure to flip your lid:
Residence 74 Cafe & Bar offers an array of fluffy American pancakes with toppings ranging from classic streaky bacon and maple syrup to Nutella, biscuit and banana, or berry compote and almonds. They serve these from 9am until 4pm every day.
Corner House Coffee Bar in Moortown has all the favourite breakfast dishes, but they also offer homemade pancakes with fruit or bacon & maple syrup.
Heaney & Mill offers sweet pancake dishes such as blueberry and cherry with Greek yogurt or apple and blackberry crumble style pancakes, available until noon.
If Call Lane is your go-to for a sweet treat with their unique take on American-style pancakes, adorned with a variety of toppings. They're open from 8am until the early afternoon, with extended hours on Saturday.
Remember to check their opening times before you head out, as they might vary, especially on Pancake Day itself.
Ready to step out? Well, grab your favourite jumper because it's a bit of a nippy one today.
Expect a cool start around 5°C, with those temps not climbing much higher than 8°C even when the sun decides to peek out. Don't let those sporadic sunny spells trick you though – rain's on the menu starting around midday, and it looks like it’s sticking around.
So, pop open those umbrellas because it's going to be a damp one out there.

The service, which fields thousands of noise complaints yearly, will now advise residents to use personal recordings and CCTV footage for evidence.
