Moortown Local Scoop- Thursday 8th February 2024

Thursday 8th February 2024

Good morning, Moortown readers!

It’s a chilly start in Moortown today! We’re waking up to a frosty 1°C. As the day unfolds, don't be fooled by the deceptive sunshine - it's going to be one of those days where the brollies are out in force with chances of rain hitting us hard from 9 AM onwards.

So, layer up and keep your waterproofs at the ready. It might just stay a nippy 2°C all day, but at least it makes for a good excuse to enjoy a hot brew or two. Stay warm, and keep those spirits high despite the grey skies!

Can Moortown RUFC Quickly Bounce Back?

After their 34-26 loss against Dronfield last week, this ended their ongoing streak which started just before Christmas. The team are currently 8th in the table but if they manage to win they could potentially go 7th depending on how Morley fair in their own game.

Their next game is to be played against Old Crossleyans who, in their last game had won to break their consecutive losses that they were starting to accumulate.

Another Cup Game for North Leeds

North Leeds FC have another cup game this Saturday. This time they are playing against Nostell M.W. Res. The team are having quite the success at the minute, they are still in the cup but are also second in the 3rd Division of the Yorkshire Amateur League. They also have two more games to play than the current team in first, putting them in a brilliant position to potentially move first.
