Leeds Boundary Changes Impact Moortown, Roundhay, and Alwoodley

Significant boundary changes in Leeds are set to impact local constituencies ahead of the 2024 general election. The Leeds North East constituency, encompassing areas like Moortown, Roundhay, and Alwoodley, remains largely unchanged.

However, these changes aim to ensure equal population distribution while maintaining local ties. Residents in these areas should review the new boundaries to understand the potential impact on their representation.

Petition Against Closure of Roundhay Nursery

Parents in Roundhay have launched a petition opposing the proposed closure of the nursery at Moor Allerton Hall Primary School. The Leeds City Council's consultation suggested closing the nursery due to declining enrollment and staffing costs.

However, an alternative proposal for a private company to take over has also faced criticism, with concerns about increased costs and the loss of community-focused early years education. The petition calls for exploring all options to keep the nursery open.

Happy Half Term!

We will be back next week with more school updates!
