'It’s a death trap. It’s not a home. It’s a shell' - Leeds tower block tenants can't wait to leave

Leeds council flat tenants have spoken of their delight that their homes are going to be demolished, slamming the local authority's “death trap” building which is "falling apart".

The council came to the decision to level the flats as part of its commitment to providing “good quality and affordable homes for residents". The other five council high rises are: Bailey Towers and Brookland Towers in Seacroft; Leafield Towers in Moortown; and Raynville Court and Raynville Grange in Armley.

Heartfelt tributes to Polite Moyo and Mayar 'too pure for this cruel world' killed in Leeds Ring Road crash

Floral tributes have been laid at the scene of a crash in Leeds where a two teenagers tragically died.

The teenagers, an 18-year-old boy and a 19-year-old girl named Polite Moyo and Mayar, died on the Ring Road in Moortown, at 3.30am on Friday, September 29, after a white Audi A3 left the road and hit a telegraph pole near the junction of Parkside Road.
