Moortown Local Scoop- Thursday 25th January 2024

Thursday 25th January 2024

Good morning, Moortown readers! Let's start the day with a smile. Remember the head-scratcher from yesterday's newsletter?

We asked: "Why did the Yorkshireman talk to his teacake?"

Here's your chuckle for today - the punchline is:

"Because someone told him it was 'currant' affairs!"

We hope this bit of local humour adds a bit of warmth to your day. Keep an eye out for more giggles and the latest goings-on in our Moortown scoop!

In Moortown, expect a day with changing skies and intermittent rain. It's a cool start at 5°C with clouds in the early morning. Rain is likely early in the morning.

By midday, the rain chances decrease, and you might see some sun. The afternoon should bring clearer skies and the warmest part of the day, but don't ditch the umbrella just yet—there's a 32% chance of rain at 4 PM.

The evening will see a decrease in rain probability with partly cloudy conditions. So for Moortown residents, it's a day for a warm jacket, waterproof shoes, and an umbrella close by.

Children are free to explore at their leisure and follow their curiosity, all under the watchful guidance of a Level 3 qualified Forest School instructor.

The activities at the Forest School are designed to match the seasonal changes and invariably involve tools and mud – essential elements for an authentic Forest School experience. It's an ideal setting for children to learn, play, and grow in nature.

Each Forest School session concludes with a warming cup of hot chocolate and a story, making it a perfect end to a day of adventure and learning.

Roundhay's Fitness Guru and Dental Dynamo Tackle The Apprentice

Exciting news for Leeds! Two of our very own local business heroes are stepping into the BBC's "The Apprentice" limelight.

Roundhay's Rachel Woolford, the powerhouse behind the popular North Studio on Street Lane, is ready to show off her entrepreneurial spirit. She's been a neighbourhood favourite, especially since she's grown her boutique fitness spot into a community staple during some tough times.

Not flying solo, she's joined by Dr. Paul Midha, the man with a plan to shake up the healthcare fashion scene with his VICI Dental Group. Both are gearing up to battle it out with the other contenders for that sweet £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.
