Parking Charges to Be Introduced at Roundhay Park and Other Leeds Beauty Spots

Leeds City Council has announced the introduction of parking charges at several beauty spots, including Roundhay Park, to fund park improvements amidst budget shortfalls.

Despite clear public opposition, the council states that fees are essential to maintain these popular locations. Roundhay Park visitors will face a modest parking fee, with charges set at £1 for up to two hours, £2.50 for half a day, and £4 for a full day. Additionally, Oakwood Clock car park will have a two-hour maximum stay limit.

The council believes these measures will encourage more walking, car-sharing, and public transport use, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment in Leeds.
