Head over to Roundhay Children's Centre this Thursday for a fabulous Messy Play session! From 1:00 to 2:30 pm, little ones from 0-5 years can dive into activities that spark joy and learning for just £1.50 per family.
More sessions for Slimming World have been added.
At the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Centre, scheduled for Thursday at 4 pm and Friday at 8 am more slimming world sessions have been added.
Also a reminder for current members to receive their free 2024 new member pack in the group this week.
Get involved with Alwoodley Community Orchards for a Fruit Tree Pruning Training session on Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm. Meet at Alwoodley Village Green Car Park for an instructional session led by Park Ranger David Preston.
You'll learn the best techniques to prune fruit trees, helping to maintain and nurture our local orchards. It's a hands-on way to contribute to our community's green spaces and learn about sustainable practices.
Roundhay Park included in Leeds’ most mispronounced places
Roundhay Park. Despite being a widely recognised landmark, encompassing over 700 acres of diverse landscapes including lakes, woodlands, and gardens, many visitors tend to vocalise it as "Roundy Park".
Let's celebrate this gem by pronouncing it correctly – as it's spelled. Remember, it’s "Roundhay" not "Roundy"!
Leeds United's Rising Star: Archie Gray Commits to Long-term Future
Leeds United has announced that Archie Gray, a talented 17-year-old player, has signed a new contract, solidifying his long-term commitment to the club. Gray, who had previously signed his first professional contract last year, has now agreed to fresh terms. This season, under manager Daniel Farke, he has become a key player, appearing in various positions including central midfield and right-back. Gray has made 28 appearances in total for Leeds United, recently matching a club record for the most starts by a player under 18.

In Memoriam: Tommy Pritchard
In an announcement from Moortown RUFC, they regret to notify their fans of the loss of Tommy Pritchard, a cherished member and player. Tommy had exceptional skills on the field, particularly in scrummaging, and his remarkable personality characterised by a great sense of humour and friendliness.
His commitment to the team is highlighted by his action last season when he traveled from Oxford to Morpeth on short notice to assist the team in the Papa John’s Cup.
Tommy's contributions helped the team achieve a record points tally and win the Yorkshire 1 title. His passing is deeply felt by the club, which extends condolences and best wishes to his family during this difficult time.
