Moortown Local Scoop- Thursday 11th April 2024
Leeds City Council Workers Amongst Top Earners in the UK 👀
Thursday 11th April 2024
It looks like the weather for the day is pretty mild in the morning, with overcast skies and temperatures starting at around 12°C at 6 a.m. and warming up gradually.
By noon, you’ll see some breaks in the cloud cover with the temperature peaking at 17°C around 3 p.m. It remains partly cloudy throughout the afternoon. In the evening, the chance of rain starts to creep in, beginning at 9 p.m., and by midnight, there's a 35% chance of rain with the temperature dipping back to 14°C.
So, if you’re planning to be out and about, you might want a light jacket for the day and maybe an umbrella for later in the evening just in case.

Leeds City Council Salaries Exceed UK Average for Top Earners
The "Town Hall Rich List 2024" report has highlighted that 24 Leeds City Council workers received salaries of over £100,000 in the 2022-23 financial year. This is an increase from the previous year and above the UK average for local authority employees.
The highest salary went to the Chief Executive at £191,870. The council argues that the salaries are consistent with the responsibilities of the roles and the challenges faced, including the pandemic and cost of living crisis.
