40 Moortown Flats to be DEMOLISHED?!?
Monday 1st April 2024
Happy April, Moortown!
Can you guess where this photo was taken in the 1990s? The answer will be in tomorrow’s newsletter!
It’s a raincoat day with temperatures hanging around 6°C to 9°C. Rain's coming down for most of it, starting strong in the morning and tapering off by nighttime.
Wind’s keeping it interesting, especially early on. If you're out late, you might just dodge the showers, as the skies start to clear and the temps dip back to a cooler 6°C. Keep your brolly handy!

Regeneration Of Moortown's Queenshill Estate
Leeds Jewish Housing Association has proposed the demolition of 40 flats on the Queenshill Estate in Moortown, Leeds, to make way for 28 new homes. This development aims to revitalise the community housing in the area, focusing on the needs of the local Jewish community.
The project is part of a broader regeneration effort to enhance the neighbourhood's housing quality and diversity. Public comments on the plans are open until April 26, with a decision expected by June 12, 2024.
Is Leeds Cluttered By Signs?
A Leeds resident has raised concerns about 'For Sale' and 'To Let' signs left up long after properties have been sold or rented, calling it an eyesore and a form of anti-social behaviour.
Leeds City Council clarified that these signs should be removed within two weeks of a property being taken, in line with the Town and Country Planning Regulations. This aims to keep neighbourhoods tidy and maintain the area's aesthetic appeal.
