Leeds Restaurant Week Deals & Local Events Await!
Monday 19th February 2024
It’s Eat Leeds Restaurant Week! Menus from £5! Scroll down to find out more.
Good morning, Moortown readers!
Today's weather update starts with a splash! Early birds might want to wear their rain boots with rain chances hitting up to 59% in the morning. But don't let the raindrops keep you down; the clouds will part for a bit of sun around 9 am.
It's a cool 9°C to start, but we'll warm up to a snug 10°C by mid-morning, holding steady till the afternoon. The wind is breezing through at 12-18 mph. So, keep your layers handy, and maybe a hat to avoid a bad hair day!
As a city that has a reputation for being one of the UK’s best food scenes, Eat Leeds has brought you some of the best restaurants and eateries available in Leeds.
Tuck into exclusive menus of £5, £10, £15, £20, and £25, a menu for every budget, this Eat Leeds Restaurant Week! Available exclusively between Monday 19th and Sunday 25th February 2024.
Here’s how to join in: Pick your restaurant; Download your voucher (making sure to check the T&Cs); Book your table; Repeat the next day!

Leeds Sees Surge in Measles Cases Prompting Health Alert
The UK Health Security Agency has issued an urgent warning after 37 measles cases were reported in the Yorkshire and Humber region within five months.
Leeds University alumni are urging for action to protect the community, emphasising the importance of vaccination amidst the decline in MMR vaccine coverage. Symptoms include cold-like signs, fever, and a red-brown rash.
Authorities advise those with symptoms to contact their GP by phone and not to visit medical facilities in person to prevent spread.
Renewed Appeal in John Luper Murder Case on 20th Anniversary
The brother of John Luper, a Leeds businessman murdered in 2004, has issued an appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of the crime.
The case, which involved a home robbery where Luper was asphyxiated, remains unsolved. West Yorkshire Police's cold case team is re-examining the evidence, hoping advancements in forensic science will lead to a breakthrough.
Police are appealing to the public for any information related to the robbery and the rare jewellery taken, urging those with potential leads to come forward, offering new avenues for justice.
The Kids Are Back In School!
