Good morning, Moortown readers!

Looks like a cooler, somewhat dreary day ahead for us. We're kicking off the early hours with a 5°C start and some overcast skies. As we roll into the morning, there's a bit of rain to watch out for, so you might want to keep that umbrella handy.

Temperatures will stay steady around 5°C early on, and then slowly climb to a high of 7°C around midday, where it should hold steady for a bit. Good news is, rain chances drop as we head into the afternoon.

Come evening, we'll see temps gradually dropping back down to 4°C, but it looks like we can stash the rain gear as rain chances are minimal. As we approach midnight, expect the clouds to part occasionally, giving us a glimpse of the moon.

Yesterday Moortown Social Club hosted an entertaining event with Female Vocalist Katie Hudson. Entertainment is held every Sunday so although information is not released until the day of you can ensure that there will be a good time to be had. Mother's Day Afternoon Tea at The Mansion

Leeds City Council Acts on Unapproved Staff Survey Incident

Leeds City Council is addressing an incident where an unsanctioned survey was distributed via email by a staff member. The content of the survey was linked to the Israel-Gaza conflict and was not approved by council leaders, not reflecting the council's values.

Carr Manor Closed

Staff Inset Day is taking place at Carr Manor Community School so students must remain home today.

Next Monday For Moortown Primary School

Moortown Primary is joining the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel challenge, urging students to get active on their way to school. From March 11th to 22nd, families are encouraged to walk, scoot, or cycle from Marks and Spencer to school.

Each day, schools will vie to log the most active commutes. Additionally, participating schools have a chance to win in daily prize draws, making every active trip to school count!
