Moortown Social Club is excited to announce the return of their Sunday entertainment on the 7th of January, featuring the superb young male vocalist Dan Taylor. The event promises a vibrant atmosphere with the added enjoyment of bingo and a raffle. It's set to be a fun-filled evening for all attendees.
Leeds United's Newest Champion Fan Acknowledged by Prime Minister
Leeds United's latest famous supporter, Luke Humphries, claimed the PDC World Darts Championship title in a dramatic 7-4 match against the prodigious Luke Littler. Following his victory, the Leeds club, a supporter of Humphries, celebrated his achievement, which attracted a record 3.75 million viewers.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Humphries on Twitter, who expressed his gratitude in response. Despite this, Humphries later removed his thank-you tweet, but not before sharing his overwhelming joy and appreciation for the support received.
Roundhay Park to Introduce Parking Charges
Leeds City Council is considering implementing parking charges at Roundhay Park as part of a wider consultation on changes at city attractions. Sara Dawson, Vice Chair of the Friends of Roundhay Park, encourages public participation in the consultation to ensure community voices are heard and any concerns are addressed.

Roundhegians RFC Gears Up for 2024's First Matches with Local Rivals

To continue the theme of Rugby from yesterday, we will now look at Roundhay’s own Roundhegians RFC.
Roundhegians RFC is set to begin 2024 with exciting matches for both their 1st and 2nd XV teams. The 1st XV will host Hemsworth at The Memorial Ground, LS8 2AT, aiming to replicate the thrilling 76-point game from their last encounter.
Concurrently, the 2nd XV will travel for an away game against Moortown at Far Moss, LS17 7NT. Both games are scheduled to kick off at 14:15. The club also took the opportunity to thank its sponsors for their support.
